1. Who we are

PaperNexa is an online academic productivity platform operated by Olasheinde Nosa Amode, a sole trader in England and Wales.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use PaperNexa, we may process:

  • account information such as your email address and user identifier;
  • academic content you create, upload or submit, including project information, notes, sources, assignment material and generated drafts;
  • subscription and billing information such as your plan, billing interval, payment status and Stripe customer or subscription identifiers;
  • usage information needed to operate plan limits, such as assignment generations, source searches and exports;
  • technical and security information associated with use of the service; and
  • communications you send to us for support or other enquiries.

Payment card details are processed by Stripe. PaperNexa does not require you to provide full card details directly to us.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to provide and secure the service, authenticate users, maintain projects and documents, provide AI-assisted features, administer subscriptions, enforce plan limits, process support requests, prevent misuse, improve reliability and meet legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

Where UK data protection law applies, we process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, or where another lawful basis such as consent applies.

5. Service providers

We use third-party service providers to operate PaperNexa. These currently include Supabase for database and authentication services, Vercel for hosting and deployment, Stripe for payment and subscription processing, and OpenAI for AI-assisted functionality.

6. International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal data.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, resolving disputes, maintaining security, enforcing agreements and meeting legal, accounting or tax requirements.

8. Cookies and session technologies

PaperNexa uses cookies or similar technologies where necessary for authentication, security and operation of the service. If non-essential cookies or similar technologies are introduced, we will provide any notices or consent controls required by law.

9. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights including access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent.
